Do you own a Honda FV-R? If you do then you own the most crashed car in the UK at the moment according to a poll by a big name comparison site. Released a few days ago, the results of this particular survey were by no means representative of the entire population but it does give an indication as to why insurers are putting up their premiums to elevated levels for no apparent reason. Not to defend them but performance car insurance policyholders are generally the worst when it comes to claims on policies because  young drivers tend to have them and more seem to get into crashes when you look at the entire population of drivers.

Back to the survey – it revealed that claims for the Honda FV-R hit almost a fifth of those driving it.

More and more Florida residents are purchasing scooters to get them around as gas prices increase and economic times stay tough.  A scooter is different from a motorcycle in the sense that they have a step through design where a rider can sit on the seat with their feet flat on a floorboard.  Their engines are also closer to the rear wheel.

State Auto Financial is an Ohio auto insurance and property/casualty insurance company and they saw a huge influx of claims throughout Ohio and the rest of the mid-west in May due to devastating storms.  They expect a pre-tax loss of around $45 million to $50 million from the storms throughout May.  Three specific catastrophes affected 23 of the states they operate in, including the massive tornado that hit Joplin, Missouri on May 22nd.  Auto insurance claims as well as property claims from tornadoes, wind and hail poured in quickly in a very short period of time.

State Auto plans on having over 9000 claims on cars and homes filed throughout the coming months due to the storms.
