There are two kinds of imported cars driven in the UK today: grey imports and parallel imports. Parallel import cars are ones that, although made outside the UK, contain the same specifications as cars built within them. The UK has very specific rules about emissions and safety features. It’s not too difficult to get insurance for parallel imports, although it may still be a little more expensive. Mostly, these cars come from countries within the EU.
