Auto insurance fraud is soon to become a felony in the state of New York.  Legislators are working on harsher penalties for those submitting false claims and other fraudulent activity according to the article “New York Senate Passes Bill Making Auto Insurance Fraud a Felony” found on the US Insurance Corner website.

In the state of Mississippi, Governor Haley Barbour needs to review the new House bill regarding car insurance. The name of the bill is House Bill 620. It has already been passed by the state’s legislature. What the bill does is require drivers to get car insurance coverage. If they do not then the tax clerk will not give them a car tag.

If their car does not become registered then people will face fines for non-compliance.  The police now will be able to monitor people to make sure that they always have car insurance coverage on their vehicles because of the tax tags that are being issued.

Are you good at keeping in touch with family back home while you’re studying abroad? A survey by UK insurance company Endsleigh found families now contact each other primarily by text – 60 percent of young people reported using texts to update their parents on their lives. Second most popular was email (36 percent).

If text seems a little too brief, social networking sites can fill the gap. However, 72 percent of people aged between 18 and 25 reported not being friends with their parents on facebook – a good way of keeping party photos and incriminating messages away from the prying eyes of mom and dad.

You need your privacy but parents do worry – ease their fears by phoning regularly or keeping them up-to-date by text and email.
