Spring and summer are generally the seasons that see a major increase in DIY related home insurance claims. It seems to be the rule that when the sun comes out, so do the hammers, nails and glue guns. If we’re taking it to the ext step then so do the patios, conservatories and extensions. For some, any DIY related accidents are fine because they are minor and homeowners can either cover the cost or alternatively claim on accidental damage clauses in their home insurance policies. Could you claim?

This question has bugged many a homeowner in the past because many policies do not have accidentaly damage cover as standard anymore.

Did you know…, Within the state of Arizona approximately 2.57 persons were killed each day in auto accidents? This information was taken from 2008 statistics provided by the motor vehicle department. So by the time dinner comes around tonight, 2 more motorists will have to face this statistic.

Also…, Over 150 are injured every day in car accidents. A little of 38% of all fatal accidents were resulted from drinking and driving.

The recent recalls of motor vehicles from several manufacturers have resulted in a call for “black boxes” to be installed in new vehicles. Toyota had to recall approximately 8.5 million vehicles since last year for sudden acceleration problems and have been blamed for causing the deaths of 89 people through possible defects causing accidents. In the US a House panel has already approved a far-reaching auto-safety bill that will see “black boxes” installed in newly manufactured vehicles.

What are these black boxes?

These nearly indestructible components are better known for their usage in the aviation industry.
